Lathe Rebuild

Lathe

9" South Bend lathe I bought at an estate sale to replace the one I had. They are almost identical,
except this one has a shorter bed. But it has a lot less bed wear than my old one.
Covered in about 30 years of grime, grease, and dirt.
Tore it all down, cleaned up all the running gear, and replaced all the lubrication felts.
Found a shaft in the quick change gear box that had more wear on it than I was comfortable with, so I made another.
While doing test cuts, the motor started spitting out fire and smoke. Decided it wasn't worth the trouble
and put a new motor on it.
