This is a missile launch control panel from the USS Orleck Naval Museum.
The idea was to make it simulate a missle launch using lights, controls, and sound effects. (And eventually video.)
The panel was removed, stripped down, repainted and re-assembled.
The lamps were all replaced with LED's. They're easier to work with, and eliminate the maintenace task of changing burned out bulbs.
The processor turns lights on and off, and plays various sound effects according to how switches are set on the panel.
The processor has a mp3 player with memory card for sound effects, and a wireless Bluetooth connection
to eventually control a tablet for playback of video.
